FAQ

FAQ – Sodium-Ion Hybrid Battery by My New Battery

1. What is a sodium-ion hybrid battery?

A sodium-ion battery is an advanced replacement for traditional nickel metal hydride (NiMH). It offers high power output, is more environmentally friendly, and doesn’t rely on rare earth metals or toxic chemicals.

2. How does it compare to the original battery in my hybrid?

  • More Power: Delivers up to 300 amps of peak current—twice the power output of most OEM batteries

  • Improved Fuel Efficiency: Encourages more electric motor usage, leading to better miles per gallon

  • Lighter Weight: Reduces overall vehicle weight by up to 40–50 pounds

  • No Core Charge: Reuse your original battery case—no trade-in required

  • Safer Chemistry: No potassium hydroxide (KOH) or other hazardous materials

Our sodium-ion modules are designed for many Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, and GM hybrid vehicles. You can contact us directly or check your compatibility using our online tool.

    4. Do I need to be a professional to install this?

Not necessarily. Many of our customers install the modules themselves using standard tools and guidance from our detailed videos and instructions. That said, we also support local installation or can help connect you with a qualified technician.

    5. How long will this battery last?

These modules are engineered for long-term use and often match or exceed the expected lifespan of factory-installed batteries—typically 8–10 years under normal conditions.

    6. What warranty is included?

All batteries purchased from My New Battery come with a 2 Year limited warranty covering performance and manufacturing defects under normal use. Please refer to our warranty policy for full details.

    7. Why haven’t I heard of sodium-ion before?

Sodium-ion technology is the next evolution in hybrid battery solutions. It's gaining momentum as a safer, more accessible option without the limitations of lithium or rare materials. Our team has done the research and testing so you can upgrade with confidence.

    8. Is this battery safe?

Absolutely. Sodium-ion chemistry is inherently stable and non-toxic. Our batteries are thoroughly tested in a range of real-world and extreme conditions to ensure consistent, reliable performance.

    9. Can I return my old battery?

There's no core return required, which simplifies your upgrade. You can keep your original modules or recycle them locally. We also offer recycling guidance if needed.
